sony warranty help
Long story, short, I have a major issues (bad LCD panel - $900 part) with a Sony 46" Z series I purchased from Vann's back in October. I've contacted Vann's, nothing they can do, it's a Sony issue. Contacted Sony, sent to Qserv, on the phone every day, now the part is back ordered until after Christmas. I've now been without a TV longer than I have watched it. How can I get this TV replaced ASAP? It seems that a $900 part on a sometimes $1500 - $2000 TV would warrant just a simple replacement?

If you bought it with Charge Card I would contact the CC .
They often have an extended warranty.
But even if you are under Sony Warranty the Charge Card company
might be willing to make a followup call in your behalf.
Next time check out Square Trade for a warranty.
They offer a 5 day repair window or $$$ you paid for item refunded.
But they come into play after the manufacturer's warranty is up.
BTW They do Ebay and regular purchases.

If worse comes to worse, you could always temporarily rent a flat screen TV from Rent-A-Center just to tie you over.

Well, Qserv came on the 17th and replaced the entire panel. It's been working ever since. I will hold my breath for the next 8 months. Now to find a blue-ray. Will for sure NOT purchase a Sony, the Panasonic is looking good.
