I have cable for almost nine years since rabbit ears were terrible in receiving the over the air signal. So, I guess I am pretty much all set for the transition.

Both the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) and FCC are against delaying the date.

Yes, I have actually heard about asking for a delay but I don't know if this will fly since they're pretty much set in stone and flooding with TV ads.

Looks like the digital transition date has been pushed back to June 12th, I dont really understand why... maybe Obama is in the pocket of "BIG TELEVISION"....

Hi Inigo, It looks as if congress won't be able to pass the bill for delaying the transition since they've already spent billions on TV ads about the change. Plus, they feel consumers had numerous of advance notices and ample time to buy HDTV.

The bill was rejected last week in a special fast-track procedure that required two-thirds support to pass. It didn't pass and now the House demoncats have a new bill with a regular floor vote that just requires a simple majority to pass. IF that passes, then it will go to the 'Anointed One' for signature and cause more money headaches for the tv stations.
If no one knows what to do after two years of lobbying and incessant daily notices by all all forms of media, they deserve to have their screens go blank. The white noise they will get will be very soothing.

Amen Steven! I must say I am not sure why the house has wasted any time on this, its settled, its a better format lets get it done. Any one know the reason behind wanting to push it back. And I dont mean
"cause Grandma dont get it"
there has to be a more influential reason to delay it....
